FastLBRY is great in that it can do almost everything imaginable with LBRY. But this versatility may confuse new users.

I was thinking that FastLBRY splash screen should have some text instructions so that users get an idea on what to do next. Kind of like vim splash screen.

Example:

Enter "connect" to connect to LBRY or turn on autoconnect from "settings"
Enter "trending" to see trending list
Enter "search your search term" to search something
To see a video or publication, just paste the URL and see what happens!
Enter "play" or "open vlc" to play a video, "read" to read an article (will autobuy if it has price)

or maybe:

connect : to connect to LBRY (or turn on autoconnect from "settings")
trending : to see trending list
search your search term : to search something
paste URL for a video or publication : to select it
play : to download and play a video*
open vlc : to stream a video in vlc*
read : to read an article*
* will autobuy if it has price

These are just examples. Feel free to change as needed.

It looks interesting. The problem is how to present it in the right way. Maybe there could be a setting like first-run that will automatically be switched to False when you launch the software.

I'm talking, so the presentation will be on, only on the first run of the program. Or optionally accessible via a command like tutorial_mode or something.

Next there are the issues of COPY-WRITING - an art of making text look nice, to present an idea in a way that makes people interested, rather then uninterested. I see a lot of Terminal apps just mess up COPY-WRITING very badly. This should be presented properly.

Maybe a question of "Do you want to take a Tutorial?" should be given to the user on start...

VIM just prints it on every session by default unless it is disabled. If it is short I think people wouldn't mind it having shown every time.

Agree.

For the text presentation, the code block above gave me an idea. We can highlight the commands with a different color. If any change is necessary in the text/copy itself, I think the other members in the community can help. Since they're the ones who will be using it.
