#187 Site, Groups: Points System!

Points given by the ratings described in #137. Notices and Gallery images would have these buttons.
insightful = +1, fun = +1, troll = -1 ?, disagree = -1, disinfo = -1 The positive ones could simply be "favourited" when it comes to federating with instances that don't yet know how to handle this. The nuance is important here. A simple up/down doesn't convey anything and is too dumbed down. These would add to the filters in the "popular/trending" notices sidebar.

We can have plenty of uses for these points and a way to actually subtract or manually add them (by web admin). They could be transferred between users and users can have their own currency within the site.

Admins could have certain levels to reward the most active and revered members with bonuses like extra gallery storage or, like suggested in #155 a special icon on their profile and next to their name in notices. Or other superficial things. Or, if the sysadmin has a store, offer discount coupons in exchange for a subtraction of points. It'd be nice if there could be a over all lifetime total on a users profile beside their current.

A points system would be great for groups and hilarious for bots.

This incentives users to post and post stuff deemed to be quality by the community.

Each group could have it's own points sub system while general notices and gallery images would be site-wide by the user.

These points could be listed in the respective directories -- "post count" is there already. This adds further depth and a little gamification which increases activity.

users should be able to disable points with granularity. i.e. disable for profile stuff but enabled on specific groups.

possibly receiving a point for logging in once per day and after x,y, and z consecutive daily log ins grant an additional point.
^ lnxw37d4 in IRC complained about another site doing something similar but also removed points which is a bad idea.
