Option to have a Paid Actor ;) Help off-set server & other costs via member "donations" that provide Webmaster set rewards.

Webmaster decides how often and how much. i.e.

  • monthly, bi-annually, or annually, lifetime (of instance, presumably...)

Webmaster & Admins need to be notified when an Actor pays.

The rewards could be any of the follower:

  • more Gallery image slots and/or albums
  • same with User Icons
  • A dedicated section (new "Supporters" page) on the site that can automatically list paying members
  • Special icon of some sort next to an Actors name on Notices and a special icon + text on an Actors Profile.
These should be changable by Webmaster. Maybe the longer one has been a paid or upon other variables, the icon should change. Just see any ol' forum of yester-year: http://death.fm/
  • ability as Group Leader to have more web-GUI made bots
  • Increased limit on how many Groups one can create or be an Admin/Moderator of? This would need to be tracked and have some sort of cool down so lusers can't hand off, create, take back or otherwise abuse.
  • other stuff?

Even better if this could somehow be tied to moving a user from Instance A to Instance B.

Bonus if there could be some way to optionally automatically donate a fixed amount or percentage back to the devs/project itself. If not, then suggest it! Have a polite message displayed to the Webmaster and/or Actors.

Isn't this solved with a simple donation button with some third party service like liberapay or ko-fi?

Not exactly.

1) It's not automated.
2) The thing that cannot be done is bump the superficial benefits for users who've donated and (obviously because it's not implemented)
3) there's no way to keep track of who's paid and it wouldn't reflect within GS on people's profiles.

These are the things, especially 2 & 3, that need to be done. I already have a donation button but there's zero incentive for anyone to donate.

Basically: a switch to flick on in the admin dash when a member pays. That sounds like the lowest common denominator.
