On the Open Source Firmware (OSFW) Slack we were discussing a product called Hyperspace from the BIOS company Phoenix, which horribly abused ACPI suspend to near instantly switch between Windows and a lightweight Linux system:

There is a thing called Dell Latitude ON which has a somewhat similar goal (but implemented in a slightly saner way, I hope), and one version of it uses module containing an ARM based system that plugs into the mainboard and connects to peripherals through a bunch of muxes. Daniel Maslowski just bought one and he said he'll see if he can get coreboot running on it.
