I was having the same issue with not being able to regain focus after alt-tab (or desktop switching), fixed for me when I updated to Wine lutris-fshack-7.1-x86_64.

[Wine 6.21] Freeze/crash after warning screen

Same issue with my Desktop, fixed by reverting to Wine 6.20. However, my laptop runs fine with 6.21, so it may be hardware related.
