Game freezes on "Warning: Read before playing"I faced the similar issue months ago. That time, I was using KDE with default setting on Gentoo. There's an issue if application is allowed to block compositing on X11, many game will freeze at launch, for me, this game and Insurgency Sandstorm. And if you're using KDE, please do a walkaround by go to System Settins -> Display and Monitor -> Compositor and untick "Allow applications to block compositing". For me, it works from then without any problem.
