- There's already https://github.com/chimo/gs-markdown (buggy) and IIRC RainyDaySavings was saying eventually there'd be official markdown support. This is my proposal for handling it. Compatible with (most of) Saidit Markdown and phpBB BBCode. See attached screenshots or visit official sites. https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode With the addition of highlighting text and block/quote background and organizational list (#147) background colors. Also, see https://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=103 DW supports the full <a href="http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax">Markdown</a> which is probably too much for GS but, take a look at their Rich Text Editor -- but make it easier to re-color! Or at least have a version with a #000000 background with #FFFFFF text I mention this mainly because TFC has a Community & Spotlighted Content Blog there and Dreamwidth supports OpenID! :p And there should be a preview tab!

- I redact the stuff I said about saidit. I think after the enhancements for groups and notices, there's no reason for me to use the saidit boards. Thus, more important (to me :p) for markdown to be more consistent with phpBB and Dreamwidth.
