2. Q: Why have you made this site?
3.
4. A: Why has anyone made any site? It contains things which interest
5. me enough to want to share with others. You don't have to like or
6. not like it.

9. Q: What is Perennial Philosophy?
10.
11. A: Perennial Philosophy is the view that there is a transcendent
12. unity of traditional religions. This does not include religions
13. like Scientology, Mormonism, Wicca, New Age, etc. These are false counter-
14. initiations.

17. Q: Why are you not Catholic or Orthodox?
18.
19. A: There are quite a few reasons, but let me give a few of the reasons.
20. I am "Catholic" in the sense that I belong to the Universal Church
21. founded by Jesus Christ in 33 AD. I believe in the seven sacraments of
22. which two are "sacraments of the gospel" (The Eucharist and Baptism).
23. I accept the seven ecumenical councils of united Christianity. I
24. accept the deuterocanonical books of scripture found in the Greek
25. Septuagint. I accept (with few caveats) the major Marian dogmas which
26. have backing from the church fathers.
27.
28.

29. I am not Roman Catholic mostly because I do not accept papal supremacy
30. or papal infallibility. In the early Church the pope was the "first
31. among equals". All bishops of the Church are equal, differing only in
32. responsibility. I also do not accept the "infallible" teaching that the
33. Anglican orders are null and void. So even if I wanted to ditch the
34. Anglican religion, it would be a move of dishonesty to become Roman
35. Catholic.

38. The reasons why I'm not Orthodox are admittedly not much in the way of
39. doctrine. Much of my theology comes from the Eastern fathers of the
40. Church. I disagree with them not administering sacraments to those who
41. belong to valid apostolic churches. While my theology largely comes from
42. the East, I will always be Western. I understand that there has been a
43. revival of a Western Rite among some of the Orthodox, but I see no reason
44. to go to the Orthodox to have this. The traditional Anglicans have
45. valid apostolic succession and bishops. So here I stand.
