  1. Conspiracy or Single-gunman?
  2. Adolf Hitler, the Nazi dictator of
  3. Germany during World War II, once said, The
  4. bigger the lie, the more people will believe
  5. it.
  6. Although this may sound absurd, we can
  7. see many examples of this in the world's
  8. history.
  9. One example would have to be the John
  10. Fitzgerald Kennedy assassination. For over
  11. thirty years the people of the United States
  12. were led to believe that a single gunman had
  13. shot and killed Kennedy in Dallas on
  14. November 22, 1963, at 12:30 p.m...
  15. However, in this paper, I will dispute the
  16. ancient analization of the facts that show a
  17. single gunman was involved, and try to show
  18. that a conspiracy must have taken place.
  19. According to the old facts regarding the
  20. case of the JFK assassination, Kennedy was
  21. killed by a single gunman. On November
  22. 22, 1963, at 12:30 p.m. CST (Central
  23. Standard Time), Kennedy was riding in an
  24. open limousine through Dallas, Texas. At this
  25. time, Kennedy was shot in the head and neck
  26. by a sniper. He was then taken to Parkland
  27. Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced
  28. dead. Later, police arrested Lee Harvey
  29. Oswald, a former U.S. Marine, at a nearby
  30. theater. By the next morning, Oswald was
  31. booked for the murder of President John F.
  32. Kennedy. Two days later, Oswald was killed
  33. by Jack Ruby, a Dallas nightclub owner,
  34. while he was being moved from the city to
  35. the county jail.
  36. At a glance, the above story sounds as
  37. if this should be an open-and-shut case.
  38. After all, according to the facts above,
  39. Oswald must have killed Kennedy. However, you
  40. must take a deeper look into this case.
  41. Many people who witnessed the murder of John
  42. F. Kennedy dispute the facts above, saying
  43. that they heard shots from places besides
  44. the book depository, and other things that
  45. may contradict what is stated above. One of
  46. these witnesses, Abraham Zapruder, captured
  47. the entire assassination on his Bell and
  48. Howell video camera. This movie, cleverly
  49. called the Zapruder Film, is the single best
  50. piece of visual evidence in this case. In
  51. order to more clearly understand the Zapruder
  52. Film, it is necessary to break it down into
  53. frames. The particular Bell and Howell
  54. movie camera that Zapruder was using ran at
  55. about twenty frames per second.
  56. When using this frame system, you must
  57. remember that all shots were actually fired
  58. several frames before the number that is
  59. assigned to them. For example, the fatal
  60. heart wound, called Z313, was probably fired
  61. at Z310, since it took 2-3 frames at about
  62. twenty frames per second for the bullet to
  63. reach the victim. Also, you must remember
  64. that sound travels very quickly at an impossible
  65. speed. When keeping this in mind, it is
  66. expected that witnesses heard the shot at
  67. some point after the bullet passed. The
  68. following shows a break down of the frames
  69. of the Zapruder film:
  70. The Presidential limousine first comes into
  71. view at frame 133 (the starting point of
  72. this timeline.) The first shot at (or just
  73. before) Z187 would have passed through both
  74. Governor Connally and the President. The
  75. second shot, which passed above the limousine
  76. at Z284, missed the President and hit the
  77. curb near witness James Tague. This caused
  78. his minor wound. At Z313, the fatal shot
  79. occurs, which blew out major portions of
  80. the Presidents brain and skull. - A fourth
  81. shot occurred at Z323 (slightly 1/2 second
  82. after the fatal wound at Z313). Due to the
  83. proximity of this report to the one at
  84. Z313, as well as it's more distant origin,
  85. most witnesses were unable to hear this
  86. shot. Therefore, the above is when the
  87. bullets hit either Kennedy or Connally, or
  88. passed through the frames of the Zapruder
  89. film. Of the one-hundred seventy-eight
  90. witnesses at Dealey Plaza, one-hundred thirty-
  91. two said that they hear exactly three shots.
  92. If Oswald was a single gunman, it would
  93. have taken him at least 2. 3 seconds to
  94. reload his Mannlicher Carcano rifle. However,
  95. the general consensus of the witnesses is
  96. that they heard a single shot, followed by
  97. silence, with the second and third shots
  98. bunched together. For example, Lee Bowers,
  99. one of the witnesses, testified, I heard
  100. three shots, one, then a slight pause, then
  101. two very close together. Also, Warren W.
  102. Taylor, a Secret Service agent, said, As a
  103. matter of course, I opened the door and
  104. prepared to get out of the car. In the
  105. instant that my left foot touched the
  106. ground, I heard two more bangs and realized
  107. that they must be gun shots. Lastly, when
  108. Miss Willis, a witness, was asked if she
  109. heard any shots, she testified, Yes; I
  110. heard one. Then there was a little bit of
  111. time, and then there were two real fast
  112. bullets together. When the first one hit,
  113. well, the President turned from waving to
  114. the people, and he grabbed his throat, and
  115. he kind of slumped forward, and then I
  116. couldn't tell where the second shot went.
  117. Thus, it would have been impossible for one
  118. gunman to fire a shot with the Mannlicher
  119. Carcano rifle, reload, fire again, and
  120. fire again in a very short amount of time
  121. in order to make the shots sound close
  122. together. Also, when the fatal shot hit
  123. Kennedy, his head went back and to the
  124. left, implying that the bullet came from the
  125. front and right, not from the back.
  126. To understand why, you must understand
  127. the mechanism of the bullet and the angles
  128. involved. The bullet, if fired from the
  129. Texas School Book Depository, should have hit
  130. Kennedy at a 21 degree angle, and, in fact,
  131. it did. Also, President Kennedy was sitting
  132. nearly six inches above the level of
  133. Connally's seat. Thus, when the bullet left
  134. the President, it hit Connally, who was
  135. sitting in the front of the vehicle in the
  136. passenger seat. When the bullet hit Connally,
  137. the hole in his back was wider than it was
  138. high, or more than twice as wide as tall.
  139. This means that the bullet was partially
  140. turned sideways when it entered Connally's
  141. back. Thus, the bullet must have hit
  142. something before it hit Connally. Also, the
  143. bottom of the bullet that was found was
  144. broken open and was leaking out tiny
  145. particles of lead. X-rays taken at Parkland
  146. showed precisely that type of particle found
  147. in the Governor's wrist and thigh wounds.
  148. However, even if the single bullet theory
  149. is true, it in no way lessens the fact
  150. that there were multiple gunmen, and there
  151. was a conspiracy. (The magic bullet is
  152. thought to be bullet one on the Zapruder
  153. film.)
  154. Lastly, one has to consider what the
  155. biggest motives would be to kill the
  156. president, or in that case, anybody. One
  157. motive has to deal with President Kennedy
  158. trying to get out of Vietnam. This war was
  159. the biggest business in America at the time.
  160. It brought in over eighty billion dollars a
  161. year. Thus, since the President was trying
  162. to get out of the war, he would have been
  163. costing business men a lot of money. Also,
  164. vice-president Johnson would have profited a
  165. lot because he was the next to become
  166. president. Therefore, people, including the
  167. vice-president, had motives to kill the
  168. President.
  169. As you can see, the killing of John F.
  170. Kennedy was a conspiracy. There is no way a
  171. single gunman could have fired all the
  172. bullets that hit Kennedy and Connnally in
  173. that short period of time. Also, since
  174. Kennedy's head went back and to the left,
  175. the bullet must have been fired from the
  176. front and right of Kennedy. This shows that
  177. there was another gunman, which makes this a
  178. conspiracy. Someday, it would be nice if the
  179. truth is revealed about who fired the
  180. bullets, and how many gunmen there actually
  181. were. Until that day, we'll never know.
