README.md

Saadhaaran is a completely open freely usable FPGA developed in VLSI free software magic.

It aims to be freely usable for absolutely everyone. It is designed from scratch visualizing MOS transistors as sandwiches at nanoscale which they exactly are. They're sandwiches of thin films with z-axis having metal and Si as top and bottom layers and multiple sections of logic in between designed in magic here.

It aims to be a library for FPGA cells as well as to serve as a strong enough FPGA to run a completely predictable computing system for any general purpose computing by flashing on it bitstream compiled from Verilog using a tool like symbiflow.

It also aims to have a minimum number of logic cells on each level:

  • nmos and pmos
  • NAND-logic
  • minimal CLB internal logic gates
  • minimal types of blocks (like interconnects, IO cells, CLBs)

Finally, we look forward to a board designed in KiCAD with a metal faraday casing for delivery of a completely secure computing system.
