97. What’s an “odd job”?

100.

101. Simply put, playing a character that is of an “odd job”
102. is a way of intentionally playing the game wrong. Odd jobs are
103. builds that are distinct enough from ordinary builds/jobs that they
104. are considered jobs in their own right (alongside those
105. set out explicitly by the game, such as page, gunslinger, &c.).
106. However, because the game generally does not directly ask players
107. to play these odd jobs, they are purely self-imposed, and often
108. (but not always) parasitic on the “jobs” (like
109. crusader, magician, hunter, and so on) set out by the game itself.
110. For example, only knowing that a certain character is a cleric
111. does not tell you whether they might be some kind of odd
112. job, like STR cleric or LUK cleric, or whether they might be an
113. ordinary non-odd INT-based cleric.
114.

115.

116. There is no limit per se to what odd jobs exist, other than
117. your imagination. Nevertheless, we’ve made an attempt to
118. catalogue some of the odd jobs that have already been invented; for
119. more information, see the
120. Odd Jobs page. For a gentler
121. introduction, see “<a
