  8. This program can be used to control the Catalyst PCIBX32-X and

  9. PCIBX64-X PCI Extender card through the parallel port interface.

  23. Hotplug / Client-Kernel

  26. To be able to hotplug devices into the controller, you must load
    27. 

  27. the "fakephp" PCI Hotplug kernel module on the client system.
    28. 

  28. This module fakes a PCI hotplug controller.

  30. WARNING: Read the fakephp Manual. Be very careful when hotplugging
    31. 

  31.          a device and keep doing it in the correct order:
    32. 

  32.          1) Unregister the device from the kernel via sysfs.
    33. 

  33. 	 2) Turn the UUT Powers on the Extender OFF.
    34. 

  34. 	 3) Unplug the device from the physical PCI slot.
    35. 

  35. 	 To plug a device in, reverse the order of the steps.
