  16. <p>
  17. The best part of working on MediaGoblin for me is working with our
  18. amazing community. I'm regularly impressed by the kind things that
  19. people do and the kind of energy we have in the project. That's
  20. usually visible most on the main MediaGoblin project's codebase, but
  21. there are other ways that this becomes clear too.
  22. </p>
  23. <p>
  24. Anyway, that's all to lead into the real topic of this post: we now
  25. have captions on the <a href="/pages/campaign.html">MediaGoblin
  26. campaign video</a>! The work on this was done by
  27. <a href="http://identi.ca/larjona">Laura Arjona</a>, who volunteered
  28. to do the work after I sent out a
  29. <a href="http://lists.mediagoblin.org/pipermail/devel/2014-February/000771.html">request to the
  30. mailing list for help</a>. But Laura not only added English subtitles...

  34. ><img src="/blog_images/video_caption-es.png"
  35. alt="MediaGoblin Campaign Video: captioned into Spanish!" />
  36. </a>
  37. </p>
  38. <p>
  39. She added Spanish translations as well! All super cool. So let's
  40. give a big thanks to Laura for this awesome work!
  41. </p>
  42. <p>
  43. But maybe you want to translate MediaGoblin's video into your own
  44. language! If you're interested in translating, you can look at the
  45. example <a href="http://mediagoblin.org/files/video_translations_2014/mediagoblin.srt">English</a> and <a href="http://mediagoblin.org/files/video_translations_2014/mediagoblin.es.srt">Spanish</a> files.
  46. You can email press AT mediagoblin DOT org and send me the file,
  47. or <a href="/pages/join.html">join our community</a> and contribute
  48. in the usual ways. (You can even send us a patch...
  49. this website is
  50. <a href="https://wiki.mediagoblin.org/Update_the_website">easy to get up and running</a>!)
  51. </p>
  52. <p>
  53. Thanks to our friends over at <a href="http://pitivi.org/">Pitivi</a>
  54. who gave pointers on setting up captions and suggested setting up
  55. the thing in the first place. Did I mention that
  56. <a href="http://fundraiser.pitivi.org/">they, too, are running a fundraiser</a>?
  57. They're good friends of ours in the Python + GStreamer + libre
  58. graphics space, so check them out if you haven't already!
  59. </p>
  60. <p>
  61. Thanks again to Laura for the great work! And if you haven't
  62. <a href="/pages/campaign.html">checked out the campaign page</a>
  63. please do so... and please donate and spread the word. Everything
  64. you do helps!
