journalctl

Systemd will not execute a command as a non-root user, unless, you create a seperate instance of systemd by following this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Systemd/User The systemd journal store logs produced by systemd. It stores those logs in a binary format, so these logs can only be viewed by journalctl. Here are some of the commands

• journalctl -b
show all the logs from this boot

• journalctl --since "20 min ago"
show all the logs since 20 minutes ago

• journalctl --since "2016-02-18 18:17:16"

• journalctl --since "2016-02-18"

• journalctl _PID=1
show all logs with a specific process

• journalctl /usr/bin/program
show all logs from a specific executable
