  1. Part of Scheme 48 1.9. See file COPYING for notices and license.
  2. The following information is only a suggestion applicable to the
  3. Scheme 48 1.9 distribution. It constitutes neither legal advice nor
  4. a license.
  5. The license in file COPYING permits you and others to build on the
  6. work found in this distribution and redistribute the resulting
  7. work(s), as long as you meet the terms of that license. That license
  8. applies to material that comes from our work, not necessarily your
  9. additions. If you happen to like the license in COPYING, you might
  10. consider licensing the resulting work as follows:
  11. 1. Add your own copyright notice immediately above "All rights
  12. reserved" in file COPYING:
  13. Copyright © 1986-2001 Richard Kelsey and Jonathan Rees.
  14. Copyright © 1993-2001 Richard Kelsey.
  15. Copyright © 2086 Energetic Hacker.
  16. All rights reserved.
  17. 2. Change occurrences of "Scheme 48 1.9" to a name of your choice
  18. when appropriate, e.g. in the paragraph preceding the notices and at
  19. the top of COPYING (but NOT in the sentence beginning "Scheme 48
  20. 1.9 was developed by Richard Kelsey" !).
  21. 3. Adjust the explanatory paragraph beginning "The remaining files" so
  22. that it explains what's going on. For example:
  23. The remaining files - those not mentioned above - comprise Better
  24. Scheme 2.0. Better Scheme 2.0 was developed by Energetic Hacker and
  25. derives from Scheme 48 1.9. Scheme 48 1.9 was developed by Richard
  26. Kelsey and Jonathan Rees, and incorporates PreScheme 0.5 by Richard
  27. Kelsey.
  28. If you've made modifications to our source files, the statement "Part
  29. of Scheme 48 1.9" in those files will not be true of the
  30. changed files. Those files should be updated to say "Derived from
  31. Scheme 48 1.9" or "Part of Better Scheme 2.0" or something
  32. similar that is true.
