- DOES LGBT SUPPORT NECROPHILIA?
- ------------------------------
- I was thinking about this. From what I know, the premise of LGBT (which now
- includes many more “sexual orientations” than just gay/bisexual/trans) seems
- to be
- "support any love as long as it’s between consenting adults"
- But really, I think we can replace consenting adults with something more
- general, because there are sexual orientations such as #objectophilia which
- involves a person and an inanimate object, and it is my belief LGBT would
- support this, or at least that’s what some LGBT supporters confirmed to me. So
- I think we could reformulate the premise to
- "support any love as long as no one involved is getting hurt"
- Now we can plug in necrophilia and it’s going to fit the premise. However, a
- counter argument I expect to hear is
- “In necrophilia you’re not hurting the dead person, but you are hurting e.g.
- their families.”
- However, this is not a usable argument for at least two reasons:
- 1. If the family doesn’t know, it doesn’t get hurt.
- 2. This could be used agains e.g. gay people as you having a gay sexual
- relationship with someone’s (adult) child may be hurting the parents.
- Sure, you can say these parents are stupid to feel offended by their child
- practicing gay sex, but in a similar manner you could say a family is
- stupid if it feels offended by their dead relative being involved in a
- sexual act if he/she can no longer be hurt by it.
