  3. The ncurses package is split into nine parts:
  4. libncurses5 The ncurses shared libraries
  5. libncurses5-dev Development environment
  6. libncurses5-dbg Debugging libraries
  7. libncursesw5 The ncurses shared libraries, with wide character
  8. support
  9. libncursesw5-dev Development environment for libncursesw5
  10. libncursesw5-dbg Debugging libraries for libncursesw5
  11. ncurses-bin Various small applications (clear, reset, tic, etc.)
  12. ncurses-base Standard terminal entries
  13. ncurses-term All the rest of the terminal entries
  14. All debian systems should have libncurses5, ncurses-base, and ncurses-bin
  15. installed. The -dev and -dbg packages are only useful for developers wishing to
  16. compile programs which use ncurses. ncurses-term is the full contents of the
  17. terminfo database, and includes many strange and obsolete terminals.
