#261 error in linking to fediverse servers using Honk

I can't seem to follow fediverse enabled servers that run Honk. For example, trying to follow someone on the canonical (ahem) honk host: honk.tedunangst.com gives me "Sorry, we could not reach that address. Please make sure it is a valid address and try again later." I tried multiple versions with @ and without, an also tried using URLs.. They all give the same error.

Out of curiosity (I didn't know Honk), I've tried following the account "tedu" from the same server. From "Profile - Remote" and adding the URL of the profile, it has worked on first try. I don't think the message has arrived, as the account does not "translate" into the username once the message is sent:

I get this problem with most everyone I try to follow unless they are on the same instance I am, or, surprisingly, on a friendica instance
