#12 Can anything be done to not block browser's built-in controls for html5 video players?

I've read almost half a year ago that you are going to do something about controls for video player if video is opened in a separate tab. Is there any progress with that? If that is going to be implemented - is it possible to replace inline <video> elements with iframes (preferably of the same size) to those videos so that the user could watch the video with controls safely without leaving the site's page?

I guess that after your add-on worked out and cut the video controls away - a user could restore them by running a bookmarklet or a userscript that'd add them again. Would be nice if such function would be added right into your add-on.

I mean your add-on block URI leaks (access to browser resources), but it could just add its own videoplayer controls with either text controls or even base64 encoded images, right?
