<p>This appears to be a special domain name used by <abbr title="multicast Domain Name System">mDNS</abbr> to discover available local network services. It is implemented similarly to <abbr title="reverse Domain Name System">rDNS</abbr>, returning information in response to PTR record queries. It should be usable on any network containing <abbr title="multicast Domain Name System">mDNS</abbr>-enabled hosts.</p>
