#1 use/recommend onion address for updates

Why clearnet instead of the onion address? That would protect against malicious exits scanning for paranoid users. IUIC the update is only done from within Tor Browser, nothing else makes use of this addon, or is this for firefox using tor as proxy? Using default settings in Tor Browser it's unclear which consequences it has to my anomyity if i follow a random advice on the internet to change my settings. Thanks for your great work!
