Provide stands on bottom surface of the UPPER and orifices in the LOWER for them to stand on the case.

To prevent warpage of keyboard area.

Alternatively some reinforcement bars looking similar to this (vanilla N900 UPPER) can be provided without a need to drill extra LOWER holes and complicate assembly.

As an alternative, we can use the fact that we have a full manufacturing control of a spacerframe and make a shelve in a keyboard area (or any other area) to prevent flexing.
