  6. .SH DESCRIPTION
  7. This manual page briefly documents gpaint (GNU Paint), a small-scale
  8. painting program for GNOME, the GNU Desktop Environment. gpaint does
  9. not attempt to compete with GIMP, it is just a simple drawing package
  10. based on xpaint, along the lines of 'Paintbrush' from a popular
  11. non-free operating system.
  12. gpaint is still work in progress and many features are still being
  13. developed. However, gpaint is usable and useful for simple image
  14. editing tasks.
  15. .SH FEATURES
  16. Currently gpaint has the following features:
  17. .TP
  18. * Drawing tools such as ovals, freehand, polygon and text, with fill or shadow for polygons and closed freehand shapes.
  19. .TP
  20. * Cut and paste by selecting irregular regions or polygons.
  21. .TP
  22. * Preliminary print support using gnome-print.
  23. .TP
  24. * Modern, easy to use user interface with tool and color palettes.
  25. .TP
  26. * Multiple-image editing in a single instance of the program.
  27. .TP
  28. * All the image processing features present in xpaint.
  29. .SH TODO
  30. Future plans include the implementation of zooming in/out, image
  31. scaling/rotation, and turning gpaint into a Bonobo component for
  32. simple image editing tasks inside other programs.
  33. .SH BUGS
  34. For bugs or general comments you can send mail to the developers list <gpaint-develop@gnu.org>, or you can enter a bug into the Debian Bug Tracking
  35. system. Details of how to use this system can be found on
  36. http://bugs.debian.org/.
