  1. The overall goal of this project is to provide remote control service
  2. on Linux through Bluetooth, InfraRed, Wi-Fi or TCP/IP connection.
  3. anyRemote supports wide range of modern cell phones line Nokia,
  4. SonyEricsson, Motorola and others.
  5. anyRemote was developed as a thin "communication" layer between
  6. Buetooth (IR, Wi-Fi)-capabled phone and Linux, and in principle could
  7. be configured to manage almost any software.
  8. anyRemote could be used with:
  9. * bluetooth connection with java client if cell phone is JSR82
  10. compatible
  11. * Wi-Fi connection with java client if phone supports Wi-Fi
  12. * IR connection with java client if java in phone supports access
  13. to IR port
  14. * TCP/IP connection with java client, if PC is connectable from
  15. internet
  16. * bluetooth, infrared or cable connection using AT "modem" commands
  17. * web interface
  18. * it supports some of IR remotes supplied with TV tuner cards (like
  19. LIRC)
  20. * it has limited support for Bemused clients
