  1. Spectrwm is a small dynamic tiling window manager for X11. It tries
  2. to stay out of the way so that valuable screen real estate can be
  3. used for much more important stuff. It has sane defaults and does
  4. not require one to learn a language to do any configuration. It was
  5. written by hackers for hackers and it strives to be small, compact
  6. and fast.
  7. NOTES:
  8. The installer includes several example files, including:
  9. * baraction.sh (scripts for the status bar in Linux)
  10. * spectrwm.conf (a default configuration file)
  11. * spectrwm_$LANGUAGE.conf (language-specfic keyboard layouts)
  12. All these files can be found in /usr/doc/spectrwm-$VERSION/examples
  13. The installer places a default spectrwm.conf in /etc but spectrwm will
  14. also look for .spectrwm.conf and .spectrwm_us.conf in $HOME/user/
  15. baraction.sh can go in an executable path which should be named in
  16. .spectrwm.conf
  17. Finally, dmenu is a soft dependency, and spectrwm will give a warning
  18. if it's missing. However it's not essential and some users may prefer
  19. other app launchers.
