README.md

Creates conky syntax from various RSS (and other?) feeds

A bash script. Uses xmllint for most parsing. Since I'm not familiar with XML, there's some guesswork, but it has been working with the feeds I'm interested in.

Also uses perl -MHTML::Entities to remove HTML entities.

Other than that, sed and tr(coreutils).

Tested on Archlinux and Lubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, conky version 1.9.x

Please adjust conky-rss to your needs, esp. make the script source your desired configuration. There's a default config file in the config folder, amongst a few others to show what's possible.

You can create your own config files, just copy the default.cfg and uncomment & adjust the variables you want to override.

the startconky file is there to ensure that conky's working directory is the directory it and the shell script are stored in.

TODO: vertical output, more documentation for the config files
