  6. --- Integrating CNC-Control into LinuxCNC ---
  7. LinuxCNC 2.5.x or later is required.
  8. Integration into LinuxCNC is easy, because the CNC-Control HAL file is pretty
  9. much selfcontained. Just copy the driver/cnccontrol.hal file to your LinuxCNC
  10. configuration directory. Then modify your .ini file to load the new .hal file.
  11. LinuxCNC can load multiple HAL files. So all that is needed usually is to add
  12. a line like this
  13. HALFILE = cnccontrol.hal
  14. to the end of the [HAL] section of your .ini file. Add the new HALFILE line
  15. below any exitsing HALFILE line.
  16. To install the HAL driver, just go to the "driver" subdirectory and run the
  17. make
  18. sudo -i # become root
  19. make install
  20. commands. This will install the driver. It will also install a sudo script
  21. to /etc/sudoers.d/zzz-cnccontrol, which is required for the driver to have
  22. access permissions to the USB device.
  23. Note that "sudo" needs to be installed on the system and support for the
  24. /etc/sudoers.d/ directory must available.
  25. If sudo is not installed, install it with
  26. aptitude install sudo
  27. If your system does not support the sudoers.d directory, you need to manually
  28. adjust your suoders file. In most cases you just need to append the
  29. contents of the zzz-cnccontrol file to your /etc/sudoers file. Use visudo
  30. to edit the sudoers file.
  31. All configuration of the CNC-Control device can be done through the
  32. cnccontrol.hal file. Just look into the file and read the comments.
