I have an R61 I'd like to revive with a locked Lenovo BIOS.

  • Possible to port libreboot to it?
  • Possible to fit librebootable x60/T60 motherboard in it?
  • Will Libreboot work in it already

I think it should be reasonable, since it has Intel graphics https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:R61

Also, there is an old modded BIOS, not sure about the freedom status on it or if it can be installed on a locked machine: https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Middleton%27s_BIOS it was made to get around some arbitrary restrictions in the proprietary BIOS for CPU compatibility and SATA speed. I think he may have just replaced a few blobs to get these benefits, leaving the rest alone.

Not sure about the what LCDs these come with, or what mine has.

I think libreboot will not work because the motherboard has the 965 chip like the X61(s)
