I own a KFSN4-DRE motherboard with libreboot. In the meantime I have tested 15 different RAM modules, which according to the ASUS website are all suitable for the motherboard, in different combinations. Without success. Either no start or freeze Linux immediately after booting. With proprietary BIOS, everything's fine.
Could please, please, please, please someone be so kind to tell me a working RAM configuration:
RAM module (manufacturer, number) - slot.
A huge thank you!!!!
deleted, wrong link.
But it is ASUS kcma-d8 board (similiar to kgpe-d16) - my board ist kfsn4-dre.
On coreboot site you can read "KFSN4-DRE is well supported and stable under Coreboot with Family 10h processors, with all CPUs, RAM, and peripherals functioning normally". My CPUs are 2x Stk AMD Opteron 2431 - family 10h. So it should work with any ram - according to coreboot. But it isn't. That's why I asked for "known-to-work" memory configurations.
mwend, you may have better luck asking this on the Coreboot mailing list: https://mail.coreboot.org/mailman/listinfo/coreboot
If you find a working RAM configuration, please get back in touch with us!
