If not too demanding, it would be useful, as cross-check for the user, to have a shortcut icon (positioned as in attached image) to quickly jump to the "original" (Untis) table (Vertretungsplan).

Right now to reach the "original" table one needs to go to the Preferences page, disable the Parser, go back to the main page and view the "original" table, go back to the Preferences and re-enable the Parser.

Just my 2 cents. What do you think?

Thanks.

We need to keep in mind that there's already up to three actions being displayed in the app bar:

  • Eye icon (disable/enable filter)
  • Refresh
  • News (if provided)
  • In addition, the three-dot menu leads to "View History" and to "Preferences", as well as possibly to switching logins.

The proposed functionality would add a fourth action that is hard to tell apart from the eye icon, as both kind of "switch view".

It should furthermore not be needed if the app is not working correctly. If the parsed view is indeed missing some column, it wouldn't make sense to keep the parser view enabled. Therefore I don't quite see the use case.

In total I think it wouldn't be a good design choice to add such a button.

I see. What about adding the "original tables" shortcut inside the three-dot icon menu, maybe before the Preferences menu item?

I agree, the parser should not face issues, but tables format may change (yearly?) and taking a quick look to the original info could save the day ;)

e.g. when the "Bemerkungen" column changed to "Bemerk.", one lesson was canceled and I missed the additional info to download homework from Moodle. Since then, I'm afraid I'm missing something, even though it should not happen :)
