  50. <STRONG>#include</STRONG> <STRONG>&lt;menu.h&gt;</STRONG>
  51. int set_menu_format(MENU *menu, int rows, int cols);
  52. void menu_format(const MENU *menu, int *rows, int *cols);
  53. </PRE>
  54. <H2>DESCRIPTION</H2><PRE>
  55. The function <STRONG>set_menu_format</STRONG> sets the maximum display size
  56. of the given menu. If this size is too small to display
  57. all menu items, the menu will be made scrollable. If this
  58. size is larger than the menus subwindow and the subwindow
  59. is too small to display all menu items, <STRONG>post_menu()</STRONG> will
  60. fail.
  61. The default format is 16 rows, 1 column. Calling
  62. <STRONG>set_menu_format</STRONG> with a null menu pointer will change this
  63. default. A zero row or column argument to <STRONG>set_menu_format</STRONG>
  64. is interpreted as a request not to change the current
  65. value.
  66. The function <STRONG>menu_format</STRONG> returns the maximum-size con-
  67. straints for the given menu into the storage addressed by
  68. <STRONG>rows</STRONG> and <STRONG>cols</STRONG>.
  69. </PRE>
  70. <H2>RETURN VALUE</H2><PRE>
  71. These routines returns one of the following:
  72. <STRONG>E_OK</STRONG> The routine succeeded.
  73. <STRONG>E_SYSTEM_ERROR</STRONG>
  74. System error occurred (see <STRONG>errno</STRONG>).
  75. <STRONG>E_BAD_ARGUMENT</STRONG>
  76. Routine detected an incorrect or out-of-range argu-
  77. ment.
  78. <STRONG>E_POSTED</STRONG>
  79. The menu is already posted.
  80. <STRONG>E_NOT_CONNECTED</STRONG>
  81. No items are connected to the menu.

  86. <H2>NOTES</H2><PRE>
  87. The header file <STRONG>&lt;menu.h&gt;</STRONG> automatically includes the header

  90. <H2>PORTABILITY</H2><PRE>
  91. These routines emulate the System V menu library. They
