  49. <H2>SYNOPSIS</H2><PRE>
  50. <STRONG>#include</STRONG> <STRONG>&lt;curses.h&gt;</STRONG>
  51. <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>delch(void);</STRONG>
  52. <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>wdelch(WINDOW</STRONG> <STRONG>*win);</STRONG>
  53. <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>mvdelch(int</STRONG> <STRONG>y,</STRONG> <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>x);</STRONG>
  54. <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>mvwdelch(WINDOW</STRONG> <STRONG>*win,</STRONG> <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>y,</STRONG> <STRONG>int</STRONG> <STRONG>x);</STRONG>
  55. </PRE>
  56. <H2>DESCRIPTION</H2><PRE>
  57. These routines delete the character under the cursor; all
  58. characters to the right of the cursor on the same line are
  59. moved to the left one position and the last character on
  60. the line is filled with a blank. The cursor position does
  61. not change (after moving to <EM>y</EM>, <EM>x</EM>, if specified). (This
  62. does not imply use of the hardware delete character fea-
  63. ture.)
  64. </PRE>
  65. <H2>RETURN VALUE</H2><PRE>
  66. All routines return the integer <STRONG>ERR</STRONG> upon failure and an <STRONG>OK</STRONG>
  67. (SVr4 specifies only "an integer value other than <STRONG>ERR</STRONG>")
  68. upon successful completion.
  69. </PRE>
  70. <H2>NOTES</H2><PRE>
  71. Note that <STRONG>delch</STRONG>, <STRONG>mvdelch</STRONG>, and <STRONG>mvwdelch</STRONG> may be macros.
  72. </PRE>
  73. <H2>PORTABILITY</H2><PRE>
  74. These functions are described in the XSI Curses standard,
  75. Issue 4. The standard specifies that they return <STRONG>ERR</STRONG> on
  76. failure, but specifies no error conditions.
