As such I added experimental options that block extension:// and moz-extension:// urls to the outside.
While it appears that upstream has fixed the resource URI leak, I hope this addon continues until ESR and releases like Waterfox (I use Waterfox) are fixed as well.
I copied the fix for Firefox 55+ from earthlng at https://github.com/ghacksuserjs/ghacks-user.js/issues/191 - all credit there to him.
