I have received the following email from Deezer, it would be helpful if someone from the project could respond to me on the details of the program. A cursory look at the sources reveals no Deezer owned materials nor any way in which the application defeats any type of encryption or any such things.
I have responded with a request on what laws Deezer believes this repository breaks but it would be helpful if someone could give me a little background on the application.
I represent the French company DEEZER SA, trading internationally under the
name and trademark DEEZER, registration number n° XXX XXX XXX with
registered offices at 12 rue REDACTED
Our company offers, since 2012, an international online music on demand
service, through free and paying services (the “Deezer Services”), with a
formidable presence on the Internet and has acquired renown in the music
industry and among Internet users.
Our company owns or is the licensee of the intellectual property in,
notably, the Deezer Services, the Deezer trademarks, the website
www.deezer.com and the corresponding software application "Deezer" available
under iOS, Android and Windows systems. The Deezer Services as made
available on the above mentioned website and mobile application, as well as
our computer systems, servers and network are protected by extremely high

those stipulated in our Terms and Conditions (http://www.deezer.com/legal/c

The following link makes available an application which uses illegal methods to bypass
Deezer's security measures to unlawfully download its music catalogue, in
total violation of our rights and those of our music licensors

I therefore ask that you immediately take down the application made available via
the URL above.
The above is a brief description of the violations at stake, and is not

I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described
above on the infringing web page is not authorized by the copyright owner,

I look forward hearing from you promptly.
This project uses a publicly available API from Deezer to get Tracks information and create a download link to their offical servers
The tracks on their servers are encrypted by """extremely high
level encryption""" that has been cracked many years ago and they don't bother fixing.
The only thing that could be seen as copyrighted material in this project could be the encryption key, as no tracks and no Deezer Code is directly inside this project.
Is there any update on this?
Deezer has not responded to my query
If the key ends up being the issue, we could always make a form in the application that accepts it as input, then extract the key from the code and put it in some external location.
I have received no reply from Deezer. I'm going to have to conclude that they were hoping that sending a lawyery sounding letter would get us to remove the repository without further questions.
I'll close this issue for now, I don't think anything is likely to happen at this point.
