Thank you for reporting this- it turns out I forgot to add the "repokey" file! I believe the issue is now fixed. I don't appear to be able to test it, however, so I'll leave the issue open for the meantime in case it persists. Always feel free to re-open it or report any other issues you discover, though!

I added the key but now i get another erorr: E: The repository 'https://notabug.org/GPast/avideo/raw/archive/repos/latest Release' is not signed. N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

I'll have a look now- I suppose the error message changing is at least a sign of progress :).

Thank you for being patient with this. I'm by no means experienced, and I cannot describe how valuable it is being able to work through the problem step by step with someone at the other end.

Hi!

I suspect the error may be because of a mistake in earlier versions of the instructions. Try running the command "cat /etc/apt/sources.list | tail -1" in a terminal (no quotes). If the output doesn't end with " /" (no quotes), try running "sudo echo -n \ / >> /etc/apt/sources.list" and try installing avideo again.

I've solved what I think may have been the problem (omitting the 'SignWith' parameter in the Release file), so hopefully it should work now. If not, could you please post which distro you're using?

Thanks for that- I'll try on Debian 9 ASAP, and see if I can find the issue.

Sorry for the long wait!

Unfortunately, I've not managed to find a solution. It is definitely an issue with Debian 9- it doesn't appear in Debian 8 or Trisquel 7- but the error message appears to be distinctly unhelpful. Following the apt-secure documentation as suggested by it doesn't seem to help either.

If anybody can shed some light on the issue, it would be hugely appreciated- I'll keep looking, but honestly don't know where the best place to look would be.

For reference, the error thrown is: W: GPG error: https://notabug.org/GPast/avideo/raw/archive/repos/latest Release: The following signatures were invalid: Hexadecimal string of unknown origin Followed by the error message LibreMind quotes above

Hi, I think the problem is the missing option Archive: archive (It is important to get Archive and Architecture right, as they're most used for pinning. The others are less important.) https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/repository-howto/repository-howto#release

No, thank YOU! I honestly could not have guessed the issue was to do with my GPG config in a million years. Hopefully this issue doesn't arise again :).
