  61. Any RPGer who's played an SNES game can sightread these controls, but for
  62. those a little uninitiated, battling is simple.
  63. - Enemies appear on the map, i.e. there are no random encounters
  64. - Battling is Speed-based; this determines the turns for both foes/allies
  65. - Targets can be selected with the arrow pad
  66. - The current ally whose turn it is has certain abilities that require either
  67. a button to be pressed, held and released, or used in conjunction with the
  68. arrow pads (such as Barkley's Fadeaway Jumper).
  69. Enemies simply use their skills. There is a command menu for each character
  70. that looks like this:

  72. | SPECL | special option. For the latter, Hoopz can
  73. | | evade the next attack in full whenever that

  127. -apocalyptic life is bitter and why the future is so empty and bleak. He's
  128. pretty well-rounded and has a high Attack stat.

  138. he is very bright. His gray hair is freaky but no one really mentions this
  139. fact. His Guard stat sucks for quite a long time despite equipment-boosting,
  140. but this changes later. His stat-down skills are great.

  213. back towards the apartment. Save first and head on up. [NOTE: If you do not
  214. give the kid a neo-shekel, it adds a "Deathtemple Point" to an invisible
  215. counter.]
  216. After a quick snooze, Jordan will enter and arrest Sir Charles for allegedly
  217. causing the latest Chaos Dunk. In order to escape their clutches, press the
  218. combination of keys/direction to get out of the apartment. Once on the foyer,
  219. quickly press the next one to avoid falling off the balcony and being caught.
  220. Barkley is captured after failing the input twice; don't worry, this can be
  221. redone from the start should this happen! There's a similar scenario on the
  222. NNY street involving the arrow keys.
  223. In the downtown area, some soldiers will catch Charles. A kid will run over
  224. and steal a "vintage" weapon from the captain, allowing Charles to escape a
  225. bit easier into the side-alley. A shadowy figure will subsequently help
  226. Charles escape...

  282. Save at the mouthy gas pump and continue east, ignoring the northern exit.
  283. At the 4-way junction, head south and continue straight west until finding an
  284. altar where a replica of the Space Jam ball is enshrined, along with the tomb
  285. of Muggsy Bogues and Patrick Ewing. Inspect the altar for a [BBALL SHARD] and
  286. both sarcophagi for a [BBALL TEAR]. R.I.P. you guys. ;__;
  287. Exit south until Hellbane warns about unstable footing. Walk (don't run) over
  288. the mesh floor to avoid a long fall to yer death. Continue along to the pool
  289. that commemorates greats like Shaq and Hakeem, and grab the [JACKET] and the
  290. [VOLLEYBALL] out of the odd-looking wall compartments. Continue along to find
  291. a healing b-ball statue. Further along is a...boss! OMG

  294. This boss is actually quite easy, as long as y'healed beforehand. Use Forward
  295. Jumper [or any other easy-to-use high-damage skill] and Hellbane's best skill
  296. to deal a lot of damage from the get-go. The "Knife Boot Face Gash" skill can
  297. inflict much pain on its target and it hits multiple times (but misses a lot
  298. of the strikes). Should you be rather unlucky, however, get those Ecto Cooler
  299. straws out and drink up!
  300. ---
  301. Heal up again and continue north to a screen with another save. A vending
  302. machine is nearby if you need to buy items, and there are some new stuff to
  303. get as well! Steal the [BAPES] from the wall hole and hang a left after y'
  304. save. A wall hole here has a [JACKET] -- which should be put on Hellbane at
  305. once -- and two southward-leading tunnels. Go down the left one to find a...
  306. TILE SHIFTING PUZZLE? OH MY GOD I HATE THESE! However, if you can succeed at
  307. doing it (all but upper-left corner must be correct), a [GATORADE GUM]'s put
  308. in your inventory! GZ, one of the creators, has supplied the tile solution!:
  309. R > R > D > L > L > D > R > R > U > U > L > L
  310. Obviously, the letters stand for Right, Down, Left, and Up... I hope...
  311. The right-hand tunnel parallel to the tile puzzle contains a [CHICKEN DEW]
  312. duo, so make sure to snatch those puppies up!
  313. Finally, return to the vending machine area and go north to Lebron James'
  314. tomb. Before fading, he beseeches them to find the "Cyberdwarf," whatever
  315. that is. Another boss fight!

  319. it uses "Mega Jump". If this happens, have Barkley defend for his 66% guard
  320. bonus and have Balthios pick his counterattack command, so he can avenge the
  321. ~150-dmg strike and cut this freak down to size. Barkley should use his Jam
  322. abilities (and then Forward Jumper, etc.), while Balthios takes care of the
  323. fiend with Fire/Ice Zauber, which should help reduce the amount of dmg he'll
  324. incur from its powerful physical attacks. "Juke Spinner" has 9 random hits
  325. to the party, and can be annoying if Monster's power hasn't been decreased!
  326. A [B-BALL] is collected after the foe's defeat. End of dungeon!

  367. After gaining entrance past "Eric Barber" the Vulturefreak, talk with the
  368. snail to gain the [POEM] for his kitsune lover. After opening it, all allies
  369. present determine the poem completely sucks, and the option to rewrite it is
  370. given -- choose to do so. Talk with the kitsune (fox) -- AFTER SAVING -- to
  371. learn about her likes and dislikes. She likes...animals, and that's about all
  372. the useful information y'get.
  373. Balthios will rewrite the crappy prose and will need some input. If you want
  374. a smashing success of a poem, answer:
  375. - enjoys hunting small prey
  376. - does not mind animal feces much
  377. - and her friends in Cesspool X
  378. The default reward if you don't rewrite the poem is 600 NS; if she hates the
  379. poem, it's 400 NS. If you pick all of Vince's stupid suggestions, where he's
  380. surprisingly CORRECT even though there's no flow, the two lovebirds leave and
  381. leave behind a [SNAIL ZAUBER]. This is a skill for Balthios, true, but there
  382. is a weapon of the same name left behind! Equip it for a great Guard boost!
  383. As for new items, the following can be bought. Everyone should have a nice
  384. time upgrading here, particularly Balthios and Vincebot who get slammed in
  385. battle defense-wise. [Armor shop is located near where Kitsune was standing].
  386. The item shop is the northeastern most shop in town, and the 'norm' inn is
  387. by the NPC Chip.

  443. use his jamz and slamz while Eye Laser and the punch/kick combos round out
  444. the other turns. Also watch out for the "beatdown" attack where Dikembe puts
  445. some merciless hurt on a single target w/ a multistrike tech. He can recover
  446. about 600 HP after a time, by using "Devolve" however (which prevents him
  447. from attacking for a while), so this may take longer than normal.

  449. A [FEMUR] is received after winning. Barkley will also learn "Holy Dunk" as
  450. a way to carry on the soul brother's legacy. But what do we do with this
  451. bone? Back in Cesspool X, the dog will speak OOC (out of character) and trade
  452. his [NIKES] for the morsel. With +14 SPD, this will greatly help slowpokes
  453. like Cyberdwarf in battle, yo.

  470. do multiple damage to everyone (Jordan has Hurricane Shot which works to the
  471. same effect). Our cyborg can also use "Recharge" to heal 239 damage, though,
  472. so watch out.

  484. This next area is sorta confusing, but it's just one screen. A [FACEMASK]
  485. chest is at the top of the screen (from entrance: west to 1st north path).
  486. Put it on Balthios so his Guard stat isn't a complete pile. In the SW corner
  487. of the room is a ladder leading up to a [CHICKEN DEW]. A note from Allard is
  488. on the floor; y'may wanna read it... In the SE corner, the ladder leads down
  489. to some pushers who y'can get items (already available) from. A guy charges
  490. $5000 to go down a ladder here...if you can't afford it, it doesn't matter.
  491. The real way to find the Spalding Building is through the DOOR in the above
  492. room, which leads to more ladders. It spits everyone out near a save pump &
  493. vendor, and from there...
  494. ...huh, it's a clinic? Lame. Talk with the suits here to learn that Dr. Allard
  495. does "full conversions" for idiots who want to look like animals and animated
  496. goofballs. There are three options to do here:
  497. #1 - Pay toll
  498. If you're stupid, this is the path you take. Why spend $5000 when you
  499. don't have to? I mean, c'mon... >__>
  500. #2 - Rough up the guards
  501. "Bust into his office" and fight the two guards; it's the exact same way
  502. as the #3 path after that. Alternately, you can go to the guards at the
  503. barred gate and beat up that Bodyguard. The single guard downstairs is a
  504. bit harder apparently, so inflict Diabetes to make up for the times when
  505. attacks miss.
  506. #3 - Find Rufus
  507. First, y'must have read the note in the SW corner to learn about "Rufus".
  508. Talk to a suit in front of Allard's office door to learn Rufus has been
  509. put on tunnel duty. Anyway, Rufus is the suit in the downstairs tunnel
  510. right outside the savepoint. Return to the office guards, speak Rufus's
  511. password, and enter inside. The bodyguard will attack (HP: ~600), but he
  512. ain't nothin' special. [650 EXP, 4NS]. The doc is up next.

  518. Jumper, Fire [etc.] Zauber, and Dwarf's punches to inflict the most dmg
  519. on this scoundrel.
  520. No matter which way is taken, y'have to enter the SE ladder downstairs. Our
  521. friend Balthios says to prepare before going; this is because once y'go down
  522. there isn't an easy way back. PREPARE FIRST! [The input for falling down is
  523. always "Up" multiple times.]

  537. bum in this building. The rules are easy (each player rolls, highest combined
  538. total wins, same number doubles total) but the guy doesn't have any cash, so

  556. Oh no, Dr. Huxtable is raining terror on the city! Its "Ectoplasm" attack is
  557. quite powerful (~300dmg), so kick out the powerful jams (Holy Dunk for one)
  558. to counteract it. Have Hoopz act as item healer, and use Muscle Zauber to
  559. counterattact its +15 ATK raise it gets on occasion. "Spook" can inflict some
  560. damage and Glaucoma, so use Glaucoma Prayer/Tobacco to alleviate. Fog Breath
  561. can inflict speed-down on everyone, too, which is not a good situation to be
  562. in! Dwarf Caress is there for a reason -- use it. This will be a long battle
  563. no matter how y'play, so have ample items to get through this sucker. Perhaps
  564. the worst move is "Ghostly Curse," which randomly inflicts multiple statuses
  565. on each character.

  567. The fog lifts after Ghost Dad's demise. Afterward, sleep at the inn for no
  568. cost and Barkley will learn "Ghost Muscle" from the dearly departed! Exit
  569. west out of town and follow the wastegrounds' path to the Spalding Building.
  570. A suit outside will also want Barkley to claim the F.I.N.A.L. G.U.N. for his
  571. company Square-Enix-Goya, and will pay $2500 if the obligation is met.

  597. The first room contains some inactive lifts, a savepoint, and a vendor. At
  598. the fork, the only way to proceed is up the left door. Barkley suggests going
  599. through the cubicles to search for the keycard. Look for wastebaskets with a
  600. sparkly thing to find a [DWARFBANE] and [BBALL JUICE] item. The last room has
  601. a [RED KEYCARD] in plain site, luckily. Steal it, return to the savepoint,
  602. and active the red lift -- this opens the right-hand door up the hall.
  603. More cubicles! A [TIME ZAUBER] is in the first one's wastebasket, although it
  604. can't hold a candle to the Snail Zauber. Keep going east, watch the scene
  605. where Barkley "feels like something happened in a room," and enter the next
  606. verticle passage of cubicles. The sparkle-less wastebasket in this first area
  607. has the [F.I.N.A.L. G.U.N.] that the two collectors were looking for. Hoopz
  608. will be a murdering tool with this equipped, so do so. At the very northern
  609. room here is the [BLUE KEYCARD]. Return to the lifts and activate the blue
  610. lift, opening the middle door up the hall.

  626. Barkley's best jams, Flame Zauber, Rapid Fire, and Cyberdwarf's punches to
  627. inflict most damage. Make sure Dwarf Caress can be used if needed, though.
  628. "Glory of BBall" will heal all Scott's status ailments and about 571 HP, too,
  629. which can needlessly prolong the battle...watch out. [You may want to inflict
  630. Diabetes/Glaucoma with Water Zauber on this end].

  633. though, and back in town, it's time to continue (Hoopz isn't in the party

  665. nothing to worry about. "Gold Encrusted Pick Toss" follows a similar strat,
  666. but misses and does randomized-target damage. Barkley should stick with Ghost
  667. Muscle and Pass/Forward Jumper (after using his Jams, natch), while Cyber
  668. should be the main healer. Keep an eye on his BP so y'don't get caught 'tween
  669. a rock and a hard place.

  683. - Up -----> Left
  684. - Up -----> Down ---> Up
  685. The sergeant will activate a bomb before dying, however. To escape the blast
  686. the end car needs to be uncoupled from the rest of the train. Cyberdwarf says
  687. the rightmost lever is the correct one to detach. When asked if the lever is
  688. correct, see if Cyberdwarf is standing all the way to the right; if so, give
  689. the go-ahead to pull it.

  701. Orb Scepter is needed to gain access to his quarters, however. The cave south
  702. of the rubble, blocked by a boulder, contains that very item. Some fool named
  703. Jenkins is protecting it...
  704. - Take Pipe (unsuccessfully)
  705. - Ask Rutherford if the [PIPE] can be taken
  706. - Use Pipe & Triangle Rock on the boulder
  707. This allows entrance into Jenkins' cave. He says that Rutherford is trying to
  708. kill Yelmirb and he'll give the [ORB SCEPTER] over if Barkley slams him. Say
  709. y'will and return to "Raffleson's" house. Everyone will accidentally be
  710. trapped in there, but the poison sugar gas mechanism stalls.
  711. - Examine the dresser and take a [ZAUBERMANCER GARB].
  712. - Examine clock to see time is 12:32
  713. - Examine work table and take [SCREWDRIVER]
  714. - Use desk (jimmies the lock) and get a [DESK KEY]
  715. - Examine bookcase to see that three books (#1-3) can't be removed
  716. - Pull books in this order: 1, 2, 3, 2. This opens a hidden bookshelf door.
  717. - Use Desk Key on the secret door.
  718. Everyone should be able to leave at this point.
  719. - Examine Cultist (Mack) at Statue of Liberty to learn some information
  720. - Talk with Mack about Das Fructose Ungeheuer by the stone slab (rubble area)
  721. Mack says the well has the entrance to where the Immaculate Rod lies. The
  722. going-away present of [750 NEO-SHEKELS] is also given! The [SUGAR COUNTER]
  723. will keep track of the sugar rates down there; more than 4.5 granules per
  724. square inch is fatal...
  725. Before leaving, find Jenkins' corpse and Cyberdwarf learns "Chaff Grenade"!

  732. it's game over. The way to proceed through here is to WALK, not dash, because
  733. the player can react to the ticker easier (not to mention it stays virtually
  734. in the same spot when walking). Running'll just spontaneously sugarify you.
  735. Also, try to stay on the dirty path away from the "sugardrifts," for good
  736. measure.
  737. Luckily, the path is rather straightforward. A small cave-in will send a gust
  738. of sugar flying down the path; back up and let its flurry pass. Further on, a
  739. shadow will move across a bridge. Follow it until a white soda can (?) figure
  740. runs away. This time, take the long u-shaped path around instead of the quick
  741. way (unless you wanna dieeeeee).
  742. Keep going west until a sudden vision of sugar (LOL?) happens. A sugarfied
  743. body lies along the path here, but isn't that important. Further down, the
  744. Diabeastie is waiting...

  751. magical-type abilities and skills do pitiful damage. Stick with physical hits
  752. and strikes, while Cyberdwarf plays the role of item healer. "Chromatic Orb
  753. Lv119" inflicts multiple stat-down effects with a small 100-dmg tag; beware
  754. its use in the early going!

  766. and continue with the normal slaughtering.

  778. can heals 400HP & BP this time! Feeding Barkley BP+ items now and then, he
  779. just used Doubleteam the whole fight, while Cyberdwarf used Dwarf Caress and
  780. his powerful punches when needed. "Short Circuit" just downs a few stats and
  781. a waste of a turn, pretty much. He doesn't heal as much as some earlier foes
  782. though.

  903. From the entrance, the maze splits into two alongside the main corridor. The
  904. green switch is the nearest "C" on the left side; the Blue is the NE crystal
  905. on the right side. Purple is the other right-side one, and Red is the NW on
  906. the left side. There is a [BLOODY ZAUBER] and [1000 NS] chest strewn along
  907. the maze, also. If done in the right order, the locked gate will lift; if
  908. the order is screwed up, the "click" of an unlocking object is heard, which
  909. tells the player the switch timed out!
  910. Upon going north, there are four corridors where the party decides to split
  911. up. Each has to fight an enemy.
  912. #1 - Balthios -> Android Officer [~500 HP] (Megaman ripoff?)
  913. -> Adept Soldier [~1200 HP] (Master Chief ripoff?)
  914. -> Greek Warrior [~500 HP] (Kratos ripoff?)

  968. so heal that crap away (or use Tobacco). "Head Bash" is a single-target dmg
  969. attack...yawn! Basically, to do the most damage, equip the H/S Ball, use the
  970. ever-useful Ghost Muscle, and Doubleteam this guy repeatedly. Muscle Zauber
  971. helps impair his stats a bit. Hoopz should use Gun Slay; barring that, he
  972. should relegate himself to item-healer (make sure to set his 100% dodge
  973. attack in place though). "Soul Consume" can heal the boss for about 380, so
  974. make sure to keep Doubleteam goin'! [PS: Darklord is immune to Glaucoma and
  975. Diabetes.]
  976. A [GOLDEN POTATO] can be recovered from where the boss died...get it! Using
  977. the thing will summon Hiratio to instantly kill any enemy in the game. It's
  978. consumable, though, so choose the timing wisely.

  1096. will refill HP (~560) and heal ailments; just recast 'em when this happens.
  1097. "Shadow Lightning" deals about 100dmg/per hit in a scattershot fashion. "Dark
  1098. Vortex" does about 200 to a single target...
  1099. Use Insulin Shot when the time arises, and use Water Zauber to inflict both
  1100. Glaucoma & Diabetes on the boss. Cyberdwarf should keep his BP up and Dwarf
  1101. Caress when the hurt is put on. Sir Charles should just use Doubleteam every
  1102. turn, while someone feeds him items. I mean, this is the last battle -- why
  1103. save the inventory? Make sure to Ghost Muscle beforehand, and keep hitting
  1104. it with Diabetes for an extra 147 or so damage per turn.
  1105. But that ain't all!

  1111. Whip" hits thrice on one target and "Flamehell" does about 250-300 to all
  1112. targets.
  1113. This battle is most annoying because of the draining skill. Barkley should
  1114. once again Ghost Muscle + Doubleteam, while Muscle/Flame Zauber is put into
  1115. effect (Zeta Slash may help as well for reducing its turn rate). Cyberdwarf
  1116. will find much use for his "Caress" ability, and young master Hoopz is mostly
  1117. relegated to item-thrower due to his great speed. Hoopz should also use his
  1118. 100% Dodge ability, because this is a free evade that's stored for the next
  1119. time he's attacked (even if he does things inbetween!). Snail Zauber will be
  1120. of use, too, if you have it.

  1244. [A] - The key doesn't seem to exist -- another joke at our expense. =(
  1245. [Q] - What is Victorian Steampunk mode?
  1246. [A] - The game takes a funny twist, with some characters being renamed, their
  1247. portraits being changed (Hoopz now looks like a neathdrathal, for one),
  1248. and there's a generally more "proper" feel to the people. The Ultimate
  1249. Hellbane becomes "Supreme Cogblight," and there's other britishisms to
  1250. find, haha. Nothing carries over (item, money, etc.) though.
  1251. [Q] - I heard there's a "Hell" area in this game?
  1252. [A] - Yes, there is...the Deathtemple. To gain access to it, y'must be a
  1253. complete jerkwad all throughout the game. The noted instances are the
  1254. following:
  1255. - In Neo New York City, do not give kid by church any neo-shekels
  1256. - In NNYC Sewers, do not give slacker outside of Allard's office any $$$
  1257. - In Proto NNYC, do not apologize to Wildman (next door to Juwanna Mann)
  1258. - Do not give the Poleshaft to Octavius Steambrast on Liberty Island
  1259. - In the B-Ball Dimension, do not spot Dick Vitale any money
  1260. Being nice to any of these five people prevents access to Hell. To get
  1261. to that hot location, complete the requirements and die; instead of
  1262. going to the game over screen, Barkley winds up there.
