  1. This contains the GeneralUSer GS soundfont, which is stored in
  2. /usr/share/sounds/sf2
  3. To use it with VLC compiled with fluidsynth, open vlc, go to
  4. tools-preferences-input codecs, click on "all" for show settings
  5. then under input/codecs, click audio codecs, Click FLuidsynth,
  6. then on the right, click Browse, and look in
  7. /usr/share/sounds/sf2 for your soundfont. Click save. VLC can now
  8. play midi files
  9. To use it with MuseScore, open MuseScore, select edit-preferences
  10. click on the icon next to soundfonts. click add, and select the
  11. /usr/share/sounds/sf2 folder, and click choose. and then click Apply.
  12. Then Click View, Synthesizer, click add, and select the soundfont.
  13. click set as default, and click save.
